Cael Sanderson Wrestling Clinic at North Shore HS
The Teeth of the Dog Wrestling Club of North Shore is proud to announce a two day wrestling clinic with Penn State Head Wrestling Coach Cael Sanderson, which will take place on July 2nd & 3rd at the North Shore HS.
Cael Sanderson is considered one of the greatest American amateur wrestlers of all time.
A 2004 Olympic champion in Athens, Greece, he went undefeated in four years of college wrestling at Iowa State University (159–0), winning four consecutive NCAA titles (1999–2002).
He is the only wrestler in NCAA Division I history to go undefeated in official matches with more than 100 wins.
Sports Illustrated named his college career as the second most impressive college sports feat behind the setting of four world records by Jesse Owens in a single hour at the 1935 Big Ten track and field conference championship meet.
He is the current head wrestling coach at Penn State University.
Assisting Coach Sanderson at this once in a lifetime opportunity will be current Penn State University Wrestlers, Andrew Alton – National Champion, PA State Champion, 2011 NCAA Qualifier (Current record 31-10) and his twin brother Dylan Alton – National Champion, PA State Champion, Division I All-Freshman Team selection, Placed 3rd in 2012 NCAA Championship. (Current record 31-6).
The clinic is open to youth, middles school, and high school wrestlers, and will be held at the North Shore High School from 9-11am & 12-3pm both days.
This is Coach Sanderson’s only appearance on Long Island this summer and space is limited.
